Another
wonderful morning in Zermatt! Yesterday we hiked up from Rothorn via Sunnega.
How crazy are these Swiss people with their transportation?! The way the
funicular crept up the mountain was amazing. We wanted to hike the five lakes
trial but didn’t necessarily want the same strenuous exercise as we had in
Grindelwald, so the five lakes was perfect! We stopped for drinks at Fluhalp,
then for lunch at a little spot on Grünsee (and saw some nice shirtless man
candy) while enjoying some delicious curry soup, salad, and meat and cheese.
I’ve decided I really like Valais Prune... or something like that... which is a
prune grappa. After lunch we met some sweet Canadian people who helped us find
the trial back to Zermatt. Once down the mountain, we saw a farmer with a
one-day-old sheep in a crate. It was adorable!!! Once into town, we had a drink
at he Brown Cow Pub and shopped around a bit. I bought some Lindt chocolate
that we enjoyed after dinner at The Factory - a little place adjacent the pub
we went to. To end the night, we had chocolate in bed while watching some
British television.
