Today
we left our quaint little hotel Schönegg for the lakeside town of Baveno.
Before leaving we had breakfast at the hotel (of course) and had a nice
conversation with the owner and her mother. We gave Bastian a Madonna Inn ball cap
that he took much effort to choose. The trip to Baveno was done in one fell
swoop - no stopping to tinkle. I was feeling better this trip, as I took only
one Dramamine rather than two. When we got to the hotel it was perfectly warm
and humid. In walking around a bit, it got a tad bit sticky, however it wasn’t
a huge concern as most indoor places here are air conditioned - unlike Zermatt.
We had lunch at our hotel, which is beautifully ornate and reminds us of a
Vegas hotel. After lunch we explored, and finally ended up back at the hotel
again for drinks and dinner. Mom FaceTimed with John which was fun for both of
them. We are all feeling quite trim for the amount of food we’ve been eating,
and we attribute this mainly to all the hiking we’ve been doing. Our hearts are
so full on this trip!
